Each year Connections UnitingCare joins with the community to hold Pancake Day.

Flipping pancakes for a good cause, on Pancake Day!
Traditionally Shrove Tuesday is the last day to eat all the fat, eggs and dairy products in your kitchen before the start of Lent - a time of abstinence and reflection in the 40 days before Easter.
The European custom of making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday was one way to use up these 'luxury' items before Lent. Over the centuries, Shrove Tuesday and pancakes became perfect partners.
In 2002, UnitingCare Pancake Day was launched in Australia. Since that time, more than 1.5 million pancakes have been sold to assist those cared for by UnitingCare.
Connections, the largest UnitingCare agency in Victoria, is proud of its links with UnitingCare and is keen to support events such as Pancake Day that raise awareness and much needed funds.
Pancake Day encourages groups to host an event either on the day or throughout the month of February.
We encourage you to run your own Pancake Day event – it’s easy and fun!
