Dandenong Secondary School Program

The Dandenong Secondary School Program is based at Dandenong Secondary School. The worker works collaboratively with the school to assist the many students and their families who may experience social and material disadvantage, that interferes with the student's learning.

People who can access the service

Students who attend the Dandenong Secondary School and their families.

How Dandenong Secondary School Program works

The worker provides individual support to students and is available for follow-up contact with the student's family. The worker also facilitates support groups for ‘at risk' students at the school.

The worker can also refer students and families to other appropriate support services in the community.

How clients can benefit from the service

Students from disadvantaged social and material situations, can be assisted to continue their learning and take advantage of educational opportunities.

Potential 'at risk' students' are supported while continuing their education.

The worker also operates as a link between the school and its community.

How this service benefits the community

Students who are assisted to continue their learning and to take advantage of educational opportunities, have an increased chance of reaching their full potential as adult members of our community.
