Forever Family

Thank you for visiting our Forever Family – Adoption and Permanent Care website.

Forever Family

There are many children awaiting a permanent family placement.  They might be older and they might be siblings but there are children right now, like Alice, waiting for a permanent family who will love them and provide them with a stable family home. Are you able to provide them with a Forever Family?

Parents can be married, single, de facto, with or without children. Connections will provide training and support to all prospective Permanent Care parents, in addition to an allowance for out of pocket expenses. The Adoption and Permanent Care team welcomes all enquiries and would love to hear from you if you are able to provide these children with their own Forever Family.

You can contact our Adoption and Permanent Care team today.

A new life for two young girls

Fiona’s daughters were already toddlers when she became their mum. The single woman in her mid – 40s went from a full time corporate job to caring for two girls in nappies, aged 16 and 28 months. But parenthood didn’t happen overnight for Fiona.

My Families

Connections is pleased to have an important resource to support children and families already within the Permanent Care program. The ‘My Families’ book project was initiated, written, illustrated and coordinated by Paula Russell and assisted by visual artist Kate Just, in collaboration with permanent care families and staff of Connections’ Permanent Care and Adoption Program. Comprising of a series of four books for children in Permanent Care, My Families follows the narrative of the main character through life transitions from birth family to foster family and permanent care family and offers opportunity for parents and workers to use empowering language and conversation throughout this process with the child.  You can access these beautiful booklets by contacting the Connections Permanent Care and Adoption Program on 1800 086 899.
