The Connections Christmas Food & Gift Appeal supplies food and gifts to families in need but relies on the goodwill of other members of the community...
The Connections Christmas Program is linked to UnitingCare’s SHARE Christmas Appeal that has a long-standing partnership with Target stores across Australia, that sees Christmas Trees placed in the foyer of many Target stores.

In 2008 UnitingCare was able to provide a total of 92,227 gifts throughout Australia.
In 2009, the Connections Christmas Food & Gift Appeal supplied over 2100 gifts and 383 hampers to individuals and families.
Many of the families who were helped had very different stories to tell. There was a Somali family with young children who migrated to Australia and as a consequence, had been unable to afford to celebrate Christmas. And, a single mother with three children, two of whom had severe learning disabilities who, each year, found it increasingly difficult to provide for her children at Christmas.
